POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:Butte College operates one of the largest community college student funded transportation services in California. Bus operators support student education with bus transportation to and from campus, on class related educational field trips, and long-distance transport to athletic events.The position work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day, 6:15 AM to 4:45 PM. Work schedules may vary dependent upon District need and may include work on weekends, holidays and on-call shifts. This is a 9-month positionwiththe months of June and July off which starts workone week before each semester andworks all instructional days only.This position receives sick leave (see CSEA 8.6), specific holidays, and Board-granted days off with pay as determined by the holiday schedule (see CSEA 8.7.1).

  • Valid Class B commercial driver’s license with school bus, passenger and air brake endorsements issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Valid school bus driver’s certificate (Form DL-45)Iyour certificate has restrictions 2, 3 or 4 you will not qualify for this position. If your certificate has restriction 6, you are required to provide a valid First Aid/CPR certification

  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC)

  • Current DMV Driver License Record report (issued within previous 30-days) showing valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC)

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  1. The successful applicant will be required to complete a medical history questionnaire and must agree to undergo and pass a pre-employment physical examination, based on the physical requirements of the position, prior to employment. The physician will be selected and paid for by the District. Disabilities not related to the essential physical job requirements will not preclude the applicant from being hired.
  2. Education Code § 87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he or she is free of active tuberculosis.
  3. As a condition of employment, the District requires that you provide fingerprints prior to beginning work. You may be fingerprinted at Butte College Human Resources by appointment, or you may be fingerprinted at another agency. Should you be fingerprinted at another agency, the rolling fee charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the fingerprint report is the employee's responsibility at the time of printing. 
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and possibly future vacancies for positions with the same class specification.The District reserves the right to modify, rescind or re-advertise this announcement without notification or to delay indefinitely the employment of a person for the position.
